Ezra began teaching at Auckland Drum School in 2017, later establishing his own teaching space on Mt Eden Road, and has since brought that experience to students in London — both in person and online. Lessons are tailored to each student’s preferences, interests, and learning style, covering everything from foundational technique and reading music to fills, timing, and developing a personal sound.

Beginners start with a strong grounding in the basics — beats, technique, and reading skills, before moving on to their first song. More experienced players work on refining technique, broadening repertoire, and building the kind of musicality and reliability that translates to real playing situations, whether that’s a school band or a first paid gig.

Ezra’s ongoing work as a touring and session drummer means lessons come with genuine industry insight, not just technique — the kind of practical, professional perspective that’s hard to get from tuition alone. He is proud to share that many of his past students have gone on to excel in school bands and competitions, including winning Best Drummer at Bandquest NZ and the King’s College Band Competition.
